A very fine example of the work of Italian genre painter Francesco Peluso  depicting cavaliers drinking and playing music with young women.  The painting has a good provenance having previously been sold by G. M. Lotinga Galleries, London.  Signed lower right.

Condition

In very fine condition.  Professionally lined and conserved in the late 20th century.  Clean, most attractive, well framed and ready to hang.

Francesco Peluso was born in Naples in 1836. His work was particularly admired for his inventive genre scenes in the 18th century style.
