A very fine example of the work of Hilda Margaret Fairbairn depicting a figure walking on a wooded path.  With its original exhibition labels verso inscribed with the title,  artist's name and address and the original price of 12 guineas.  Signed and dated lower left. 

Condition

In very fine condition.  The canvas not lined, torn, patched or repaired.  Clean, most attractive, well framed and ready to hang.

Artist Information

Hilda Margaret Fairbairn was an artist and illustrator born in Knowl Hill, near Maidenhead, Berkshire where her father was the local vicar. She attended the Herkomer Art School and became a prolific exhibitor.  She was made an associate of the Society of Women Artists in 1902.  She exhibited widely including works at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, Society of Women Artists and elsewhere.
