Artist Information

Henry Andrews was a London based painter of genre and historical scenes.  He is now best known for his imitations and adaptions of Watteau, who he is also said to have forged.  Redgrave says that 'he fell into the hands of unscrupulous dealers'.  He exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1830 and 1858 as well as the British Institution and the Society of British Artists.
