A superb example of the work of 19th century French painter Charles Kuwasseg depicting a scene on the coast with a mother and children on the rocks in the foreground and further figures unloading the fishing boats beyond. Signed and dated lower right.

In very fine condition. Professionally lined and conserved in the last couple of decades. Clean, most attractive, well framed and ready to hang.
Artist Information
Charles Euphrasie Kuwasseg was a French painter of the 19th century. He essentially specialized in landscape paintings. His father, Karl Joseph Kuwasseg, was an Austrian born in Trieste on March 16, 1802, and also a renowned painter. His father left for Paris, and took French nationality. He died in Paris in January 1877.
